Meditations: “written or spoken discourse expressing considered thoughts on a subject.” In this thoughtful and intimate collection, pianist Ashley Wass and violinist Doriane Gable—long-time artistic collaborators as well as husband and wife—present repertoire that invites reflection and stillness.

At a point in their lives and careers where mindfulness and emotional depth take centre stage, they offer music that both engages the listener’s inner world, whilst simultaneously offering an escape through a serene sonic backdrop for those who seek it.

Wass, a pianist with decades of experience touring the world’s concert stages, and Gable, a distinguished soloist and in-demand chamber musician, present their first recording together—capturing for the first time in the studio the depth and sensitivity of a long-standing musical and personal partnership.

A keen advocate of contemporary music, Doriane has worked closely with the ensemble TM+, is a member of the choreographic project The Will Corporation, and was a member of the Quatuor Parisii from 2014–2017.
